I use card readers because I don't want to wear out my computers front SD card access, and want that as a backup.Tell me if there are other paths I should try, it's very frustrating. Both of my computers are less than a year old.

I thought it might be some kind of driver issue, but if that was the case, why do the card readers work with other cards. That's why I just checked by transfering one of my computers documents to it to be sure there was not problem. I use the Sandisk card every day in an outdoor camera to photograph animals, and each time I 'm done with it I reformat it. I put the Sandisk card in this computers front card reader and transfered a picture from my documents to see if the card was OK, and it transfered fine. I have another computer, Dell desk top, and it does the same thing with the Sandsick card. As I mentioned earlier, I used another Inland multi card reader for a long time and it worked well until it became intermittent, I believe because I finally wore out the contacts. The problem is always with a card reader and the Sandisk card. If I put the Sandisk 4 GB card in my computers front card reader it comes up. Then I put a Sony Memory Stick in that same card reader and it pulled up. Next I put the Sandisk 4 GB card in my Inland multicard reader and it would not come up. I just put in a Sandsik 16 GB flash drive and it came up fine.
